Aw Helllllll No!

So I was at a gathering last night (where Kyle and I went like 10-0 in beer pong, no joke), and i actually had to use the "Z" snap.
Allow me to set the scene. I was a good distance from the door, seated near the beer pong table, watching the action (our dominance came later). Two of my friends that we had been waiting for finally showed up. We'll call them Mark and Elsa, for privacy's sake. Here is Mark in disguise and Elsa with her identity fully hidden:
They came in and I went all the way over to see them. I said hi to Mark, and was waiting to see Elsa on this momentous occasion on which she actually visited, because she no longer goes to school with us, and is (or was, until this diss) greatly missed. She said hi to Kyle and then Kyle mentions "hey, I think someone has been waiting to say hi to you." So Elsa proceeds to get excited and say "I think there's someone I need to say hi to!!".......and looks directly past me, thinking Kyle was referring to his girlfriend. She starts across the room, brushing past me without acknowledging my presence in the slightest, me standing there shocked with my mouth agape, Kyle finally redirects her, and she expects me to act like nothing happened! So after all her other pleasantries were taken care of, I took her aside and gave her a stern talking to, ultimately resulting in a forceful "Z" snap all up in her grill, followed by her feeble and awkward attempt at snap retaliation. Watching her attempt to "Z" snap is kind of like watching this:

Yeah, I said it.
I do hope she comes to visit more often, but next time, we better not have this issue. The party turned out to be really fun , and it was a good overall night, from what I remember.

Happy Birthday Kyle and Starting Over

Yes, today was Kyle's birthday. Again, happy birthday ginger. we should go out to the bars! in a year......HA!
Kyle's birthday also brought the first day of school. BOO! It wasn't so bad, but it was the first day so I'm guessing it will get a little tougher. This semester will also be interesting because I am taking more classes for my major, and I'm excited to see how they turn out. I must not know myself very well, because I scheduled all morning classes, and I am most definitely NOT A MORNING PERSON!! We shall see how tomorrow goes, as i wake at the crack of dawn to trek all the way across campus to the Environmental Technology Center (the ETC to us ENSP majors, keep that on the DL) to learn what "Applied Physical Science" really is.
With the new semester came a fresh start in the dorm (aka unpacking and no food in the house!!!!). It's really hard to start a diet having to eat out for the first few meals of the allocated "healthy" period. Tomorrow we get some real food and I'm excited.
This semester is kind of a make-it-or-break-it time for me. I think I'm ready. I need to put in work in 3 areas I have been slacking in since college rolled around. Now is the time to capitalize on opportunities I have been presented with. So for the next 16 weeks of school, I'll be more dedicated in the classroom, at work, and in the gym. I have goals that need to be met, and I'm going to meet them. Hold me accountable for it. Please. It'll be the nicest thing you've ever done for me.

Damn you Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield

So apparently i suck at keeping up with this thing, but i'm not giving up yet. I think it's just that I haven't done much and nothing exciting has happened lately. What i have done is eat about one of those mini ben & jerry's cups every day for the last week.
Oh cookie dough ice cream, how you complete me.
While there are so many flavors to choose from, and I like most of them, I simply cannot resist the good old cookie-dough-chocolate-chips-and-vanilla-ice-cream combo. My mom came home with a bunch of the mini-cups and said "look what I found, they're diet sized!" Not quite. So much for the progress I had made in the last few weeks. I guess I'll restart when school does. I hope the roomies are ready for some healthy-eating if they want what I'll be making for meals.
Speaking of cooking, on the days when I haven't been working this break, I have been trying to cook dinner for my family as much as possible. Today, I had two soups working at once, really testing my multi-tasking skills. They turned out really good, especially in the bread bowls i struggled with. Making them wasn't hard, but finding 7 of the right kind of bread in town today was a chore, and i snatched up every last suitable round loaf.
Everyone seemed to like the soups, a yummy broccoli-cheddar and a comforting white chili. With all this rain, which i absolutely LOVE, nothing sounded better than soup, and it was amazing. I love cooking and try to do it every chance I get. My family tells me I should go to culinary school, which would love to someday, but my cousin's a chef and he says there's no money in it unless you actually own the restaurant, which is also something I would love to do someday. So while I'm full of "somedays", I'll just continue living vicariously through Guy Fieri.
I think maybe I'll dedicate a part of this blog to food. I'll post some easy yummy recipes or something. Yay. Now I have some sort of a direction with this thing.
Oh, and lastly, I was verbally assaulted by my 5 year old nephew this evening.
He may look sweet and innocent. Looks can be deceiving. He's vicious. There's no such thing as play fighting with him. He throws elbows, knees, kicks, punches, headbutts, bends fingers, pulls hair. Were playing nintendo wii earlier and he kept yelling at me for things he thought I was doing wrong in his Indiana Jones game, even when it was the right way to go. Like hardcore screaming at me. All my years in sports and I had never been berated like this munchkin was dishing out. This kid won't let himself be wrong. I guess thats why everyone calls him my mini-me, and says how much like me he is. What a lucky kid!
Well, I guess that's all for now. Maybe I won't wait a week next time...
And remember: If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made of meat?

MY VERY FIRST POST

HI!!!!
This whole new adventure was inspired by a Ms. Elyse McDonald and her pioneering into the blogging world, of which I am an avid follower. Here is Elyse:
I had been toying with the idea of starting up a blog after reading numerous entries from Elyse and also a Ms. Natalie Kmetz. Here is Natalie:
I spend most of my nights not being able to fall asleep until the wee hours, then sleeping in to get sufficient sleep. Tonight, or should I say this morning, was no exception, so i decided to take the plunge into the blogging abyss. I'm not exactly sure where to go with it, but I have plenty of amazing ideas and hopes and dreams (light on the hopes and dreams), so I'm sure I can figure something out. So far, the hardest thing to think of has been the title. The subjects of my commentary will probably rely heavily on the stuff that comes out of Jesse Montero's mouth and other happenings of Alsace 314. Maybe I'll create a virtual "wall of Jesse" like freshman year. Fun times. Guess you had to be there.
I'm not sure how often I'll update this thing, I'm guessing a lot at first and then slowly taper off to nothing. Or maybe not...we shall see!
Thats it for now I guess.
Peace Love and Cookie-Dough Ice Cream
